Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 21, 2026

This is a starter privacy policy template for Stowfy. Have it reviewed by legal counsel and tailored to your actual data practices and company details before launch. It must match the privacy information declared in your App Store and Google Play listings.

Our commitment to privacy

Stowfy (“Stowfy,” “we,” “us” or “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This policy applies to our websites and mobile apps in every country in which we operate, and we handle personal information in line with applicable privacy laws.

Our privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we hold, use and disclose it. By creating an account, using the app or website, or otherwise providing personal information to us, you agree to the terms of this policy.

The personal information that we collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information — your email address and sign-in identifiers (including via Apple, Google).
  • Content you create — the recipes you save and import, cookbooks, grocery lists, meal plans, notes and preferences.
  • Payment information — subscriptions are processed by the App Store and Google Play; we do not store or collect your full payment card details.
  • Communications — messages you send us, such as support requests and feedback.
  • Usage information — information regarding your use of, and interest in, our products and services, including how you interact with the app, features you use, and your preferences.
  • Personal preference information — information you voluntarily provide, such as your food and dietary preferences, cuisine interests, lifestyle choices, nutrition goals, grocery shopping habits, and other related preferences.
  • Location information — your device's geographic location when you access or use the services.
  • Survey and feedback information — information you choose to provide when participating in surveys, responding to customer feedback requests, or entering competitions or promotions.
  • Verification and complaint information — information you provide for identity verification, to support a complaint, or as evidence in relation to a dispute or support request.
  • Other information — any additional information you choose to provide to us while using the Services or communicating with us.
  • Providing information to us is voluntary. However, failure to provide certain information may limit or prevent your ability to use the Service.

Online services and usage data

When you use our services we automatically collect certain technical and usage information — such as device type and operating system, app version, log data, and how you interact with features. We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies on our website to operate it and understand usage.

We may collect information such as:

  • Which functions and features you use and how you use them
  • Device information, such as the device type, operating system, app version, and region
  • Location information

Sensitive information

We do not seek to collect sensitive information (such as health, racial, religious or similar data). Where any such information would be collected, we will only do so with your explicit consent or as permitted by law.

Use of personal information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, maintain and improve Stowfy and its features;
  • Import recipes and sync your content across your devices;
  • Process subscriptions and provide customer support;
  • Personalise your experience and develop new features;
  • Communicate with you about updates, security and offers;
  • Detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse and security issues;
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

Disclosure of personal information

We may share personal information with:

  • Service providers who help us run the service (cloud hosting, analytics, email, payments), under contracts that protect your data;
  • Affiliates within our corporate group;
  • Authorities where required by law, regulation or valid legal process;
  • A successor in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

Location and international transfers

We and our service providers may store and process your information in countries other than your own. By using Stowfy, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations, which may have different data-protection laws than where you live. We take steps to ensure your information remains protected.

Security and storage

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information in transit and at rest, and we back up your content so you don't lose recipes. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so you also play a role by keeping your account credentials safe.

Detailed information on the processing of your personal data

We rely on trusted third parties to process certain data on our behalf — for example, cloud infrastructure and backups, product analytics, error reporting, email delivery, and subscription billing through the app stores. Each provider may process limited data only as needed to perform its service and in accordance with its own privacy policy.

Minors

Stowfy is not intended for, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Access to and correction of personal information

You have the right to access, update and correct the personal information we hold about you. You can update much of it directly in the app, or contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time (generally within 30 days).

Deletion

You can delete your account and content from within the app. When you do, we delete or de-identify your personal information, except where we are required or permitted to retain it for legal, security or legitimate business purposes.

Specific jurisdictional provisions

EU/UK (GDPR). If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We process your data on the legal bases of contract, legitimate interests, consent and legal obligation.

California & other US states.If you are a resident of California, Virginia or another state with applicable privacy laws, you may have the right to request access to, deletion of, and details about the personal information we collect, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell your personal information). We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

General

Our services may contain links to third-party sites or services that we do not control and are not responsible for. If our business is involved in a reorganisation, merger or sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
